[18F]MNI-968 is a fluorine-18 labeled positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer developed for imaging the dopamine D1 receptor in the brain. It acts as an agonist PET tracer, selectively binding to D1 receptors, and is used primarily as a research tool to assess D1 receptor distribution and occupancy in both non-human primates and humans. The compound demonstrates favorable brain penetration, regional uptake consistent with known D1 receptor distribution, and rapid washout kinetics. Its primary use is as a diagnostic imaging agent for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders where dopaminergic signaling may be altered. The developer of this agent is Molecular NeuroImaging (a subsidiary of inviCRO)[1][2][6].
