[18F]PSS232 is a radiopharmaceutical used as a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer for non-invasive imaging of the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 5 (mGluR5) in the brain. It is a fluorine-18 labeled analog of [11C]ABP688, developed to overcome the short half-life limitations of carbon-11 tracers and enable broader clinical use. [18F]PSS232 demonstrates high selectivity and specificity for mGluR5, with favorable in vitro and in vivo properties including well-defined brain uptake kinetics that match mGluR5 distribution. Its primary application is research imaging in neurological and psychiatric disorders such as anxiety, depression, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other conditions where mGluR5 plays a role[1][2][3][4][7].
