Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]TZ10810 is a fluorine-18 labeled small molecule positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer designed for imaging triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) in the brain. Developed by researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine, [18F]TZ10810 is being investigated as a non-invasive diagnostic tool to quantify TREM2 expression changes, which serve as a key biomarker for microglial activation and neuroinflammatory responses. In preclinical studies, [18F]TZ10810 demonstrated high binding potency for the TREM2 protein (IC50 of ~82.7 nM), favorable brain uptake, and good metabolic stability in rodent and nonhuman primate models, highlighting its potential utility in studying neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis.
