Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[203Pb]VMT01 is a melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) targeted theranostic ligand used as an imaging surrogate for [212Pb]VMT01, which is in clinical development for alpha particle therapy for melanoma. [203Pb]VMT01 is used for patient selection and dosimetry assessments before treatment with the therapeutic [212Pb]VMT01. The drug targets and binds to MC1R, a protein that can be overexpressed in metastatic melanoma tumors. In clinical trials, patients first receive [203Pb]VMT01 as an imaging agent, and those who show positive uptake then proceed to treatment with [212Pb]VMT01.
