Overview
[211At]AtFAPI is an astatine-211 labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) developed as a targeted alpha-particle radiotherapeutic. It is designed to target fibroblast activation protein (FAP), a type II transmembrane serine protease highly expressed on activated stromal fibroblasts in the microenvironment of most solid tumors. By delivering high-energy alpha particles directly to the tumor stroma, [211At]AtFAPI aims to destroy tumor-supporting stromal cells and cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. It is developed as part of a theranostic pair alongside the diagnostic PET tracer [18F]FluoFAPI from a shared stannane precursor.
