[68Ga]Ga-DO3A-VS-Cys40-Tuna-2 is a radiolabeled peptide-based PET imaging agent that binds with high affinity and specificity to the glucagon receptor (GCGR). It is used as a noninvasive marker for quantifying GCGR distribution and occupancy, particularly in the liver, in both preclinical and clinical studies. The compound has been validated in vitro and in vivo (rats, non-human primates) and was developed to support drug development for anti-diabetic therapies by enabling accurate measurement of target engagement. The automated GMP-compliant production process was established for clinical use. Sanofi provided the GMP-grade precursor material for this tracer[1][4][5][6].
