[68Ga]Ga-DOTA-cTMTP1 is a radiopharmaceutical PET imaging probe designed for the visualization of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is composed of a cyclic version of the TMTP1 peptide (cTMTP1), which is a tumor-homing peptide that selectively targets highly metastatic tumor cells by binding to X-prolyl aminopeptidase 2 (XPNPEP2). The peptide is conjugated to the DOTA chelator and labeled with the positron-emitting isotope Gallium-68. Preclinical studies have shown that the cyclic modification improves the probe's stability and pharmacokinetic profile compared to linear TMTP1, allowing for high-contrast imaging of HCC microlesions in animal models.
