[68Ga]Ga-NOTA-ABSCINT-HER2 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent developed by Abscint in collaboration with the Centre Henri Becquerel. It consists of a single-domain antibody (sdAb), also known as a nanobody (specifically the 2Rs15d clone), which is conjugated to the chelator NOTA and radiolabeled with the positron emitter Gallium-68 (68Ga). This agent is designed for use with positron emission tomography (PET) to non-invasively detect and quantify the expression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) in patients with breast cancer and other HER2-positive solid tumors. Due to its small molecular size (approximately 15 kDa), the nanobody exhibits rapid blood clearance and high tumor penetration, allowing for high-contrast imaging within one hour of administration. This facilitates the identification of HER2-positive lesions, including metastases, and helps in selecting patients for HER2-targeted therapies.
