Drug intelligence / Profile preview
\[68Ga\]Ga-NOTA-HL (also known as Ga-68 Dolacga) is a gallium-68 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by the National Atomic Research Institute (NARI, formerly the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research) in Taiwan. It is a PET imaging tracer designed to target the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) on hepatocytes. ASGPR is a transmembrane protein highly expressed on the sinusoidal and basolateral surfaces of functional hepatocytes, making it a valuable biomarker for assessing functional liver reserve. The tracer consists of a hexavalent lactoside (HL) ligand conjugated to a 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA) chelator, which is radiolabeled with gallium-68. It is formulated as a lyophilized kit (Dolacga) for rapid, one-step preparation. It is being evaluated in clinical trials for preoperative liver function assessment in patients with liver cancer (such as hepatocellular carcinoma) and for monitoring liver function changes before and after treatments like proton therapy or radiofrequency ablation.
