[68Ga]Ga-P15-041 is a novel bone-seeking PET radiotracer developed for detecting bone metastases in cancer patients. It combines a gallium-68-chelating bifunctional agent (HBED-CC) with a bone-targeting bisphosphonate group (BP), creating a compound officially known as 68Ga-HBED-CC-BP. This radiotracer demonstrates high affinity specific binding to bone with rapid clearance from soft tissue, making it particularly effective for whole-body imaging of bone metastases. Clinical studies have shown that [68Ga]Ga-P15-041 PET/CT is superior to conventional 99mTc-MDP whole-body bone scintigraphy (WBBS) in detecting bone metastases, with high sensitivity and specificity. One of its key advantages is its ease of preparation using a kit and a 68Ga/68Ge generator, removing the need for a cyclotron.
