[99mTc]Tc-CSSG-rL-A9 is a technetium-99m labeled radiopeptide designed for the molecular imaging of HER2-positive breast cancer. It consists of the HER2-targeting peptide sequence rL-A9 conjugated to a peptide-based chelator, CSSG (Cysteine-Serine-Serine-Glycine), at the N-terminus. The chelator is intended to coordinate the radioactive isotope Technetium-99m (99mTc) for diagnostic detection. Preclinical stability studies indicated that this specific variant decomposed rapidly compared to other chelator sequences like CGGG. Due to this chemical instability, [99mTc]Tc-CSSG-rL-A9 was not pursued for further in vitro or in vivo biological evaluation.
