Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[Tc-99m]-RPI-T-087 is a technetium-99m labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by Reiley Pharmaceuticals as a diagnostic imaging agent for osteoarthritis of the knee. It functions as a radiotracer that specifically targets cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme upregulated during inflammatory processes. By binding to COX-2, the agent allows for the visualization and assessment of inflammation within the joint using SPECT/CT imaging. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to determine its safety, tolerability, and effectiveness as a biomarker for identifying inflammatory activity in patients with knee osteoarthritis compared to healthy volunteers.
