1,3,5-Trimethoxybenzene is a small molecule antispasmodic drug used primarily for the symptomatic treatment of spastic pain in the urinary tract (such as renal colic), painful disorders of the digestive and biliary tract, and gynecological pain. It acts on smooth muscle to relieve spasms. The compound is also known as a major scent component in Chinese rose and serves as an intermediate in organic synthesis. In France and some other countries it is marketed under the brand name Spasfon for these indications[4][6].
