Overview

14,15-EEZE is a small molecule antagonist of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), which are lipid signaling molecules derived from arachidonic acid via cytochrome P450 epoxygenases. EETs are known to promote angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, and tumor progression. By antagonizing the biological effects of EETs, 14,15-EEZE has demonstrated the ability to inhibit primary tumor growth and suppress metastasis in various preclinical models, including melanoma and pancreatic cancer. It specifically blocks the vasodilatory and angiogenic actions of 14,15-EET and 11,12-EET. 14,15-EEZE is widely used as a research tool to study the biological roles of EETs and is a structural analog of 14,15-EET that lacks agonist activity and competitively inhibits the effects of endogenous EETs.
