Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The 15-valent HPV vaccine is a recombinant biologic vaccine developed by Shanghai Bovax Biotechnology Co., Ltd. using Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) technology expressed in the *Hansenula polymorpha* yeast system. This vaccine is designed to provide broad protection against 15 types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), including all 12 high-risk types identified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). By expanding coverage beyond the currently marketed 9-valent vaccines, it is estimated to prevent approximately 99% of cervical cancers. The vaccine is indicated for the prevention of HPV infection, HPV-related carcinomas (such as cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers), intraepithelial neoplasia, and genital warts. It is administered via intramuscular injection in a three-dose schedule (0, 2, and 6 months) and is currently in Phase 2 clinical development in China for individuals aged 9 to 45 years.
