177Lu-PNT2002 + brachytherapy is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated for the treatment of locally recurrent prostate cancer. The regimen consists of 177Lu-PNT2002, a radioligand therapy that targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), and High Dose Radiation (HDR) brachytherapy. 177Lu-PNT2002 (also known as 177Lu-PSMA-I&T) utilizes the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177 to deliver targeted radiation to PSMA-expressing cells both within the prostate and systemically. HDR brachytherapy involves the temporary placement of radioactive sources directly into the prostate to deliver a concentrated dose of radiation to the local tumor. This combination approach, studied in the ROADSTER trial led by Glenn Bauman, aims to improve local control while simultaneously addressing potential micrometastatic disease outside the prostate.
