Overview

2,5-Dimethoxy-4-ethylamphetamine (DOET) is a synthetic psychedelic drug belonging to the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes. It is part of the DOx family of substituted amphetamines and is structurally related to mescaline and DOM. DOET acts primarily as an agonist at serotonin 5‑HT₂A receptors in the brain, which mediates its hallucinogenic and entheogenic effects. The compound produces long-lasting psychedelic effects with an onset of action between one to three hours and a duration that can extend up to twenty hours. It has been described as having antidepressant and cognitive-enhancing properties in addition to its primary psychedelic activity[1][5]. The toxicity profile of DOET remains largely unknown.
