2,5-Dimethoxy-4-ethylthioamphetamine (commonly known as ALEPH‑2) is a synthetic psychedelic compound of the phenylisopropylamine class and a structural analog of amphetamine. It belongs to the substituted amphetamines and is closely related to other compounds in the DOx and Aleph series. ALEPH‑2 acts primarily as an agonist at serotonin receptors, particularly the serotonin 5‑HT₂A receptor, which mediates its hallucinogenic effects. The compound has been described as having alleged anxiolytic and hallucinogenic properties[1][3][6]. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin and has been used mainly in research settings; it is not approved for medical use.
