2-(benzhydryl sulfinyl)-N-sec-butylacetamide is a novel small molecule compound isolated from the mature fruits of the fig (*Ficus carica*). Chemically related to modafinil, this compound has demonstrated the ability to augment the efficacy of the monoclonal antibody trastuzumab by enhancing the phagocytic killing of HER2-positive cancer cells, such as the SKOV-3 ovarian cancer line. Its mechanism of action involves interfacing with Fc gamma receptors (FcγR) on phagocytic cells, thereby promoting antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP). Preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies suggest that it may serve as a potent adjuvant in immunotherapeutic strategies for treating ovarian cancer and potentially other HER2-overexpressing malignancies.
