This specific study conducted by the University of Sao Paulo evaluated the immunogenicity and safety of the vaccine when administered intradermally using a needle-free disposable-syringe jet injector (DSJI) compared to traditional intramuscular injection. The goal of such studies is often dose-sparing, where a smaller volume of vaccine delivered into the dermis (which is rich in antigen-presenting cells) can elicit an immune response comparable to a full dose delivered intramuscularly.
