Overview

A combination of three broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (bNAbs)—2F5, 2G12, and 4E10—developed for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. These antibodies target distinct regions of the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein: 2F5 and 4E10 target the membrane-proximal external region (MPER) of gp41, while 2G12 targets a carbohydrate-dependent epitope on gp120. The combination was evaluated by Rockefeller University in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess its safety and ability to prevent viral rebound in patients whose HIV-1 was well-suppressed by highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). The antibodies were manufactured by Polymun Scientific and are intended to neutralize a broad range of HIV-1 strains by blocking viral entry into host cells.
