Overview

This compound is a synthetic small molecule inhibitor known as LS3. It is an oxindole-based inhibitor with high selectivity for cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) over other kinases and CDK family members. The selectivity is attributed to the presence of a sulfonyl group that interacts specifically with residues Asp86 or Lys89 in the CDK2 binding site. LS3 has been used in structural biology studies to elucidate kinase-inhibitor interactions but has not advanced into clinical development or received regulatory approval[6][4][10].
