Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MMDA (3-methoxy-4,5-methylenedioxyamphetamine) is a synthetic psychedelic and entactogen of the amphetamine class. It is structurally related to MDA and MDMA. MMDA produces effects such as euphoria, warmth, empathy, closed-eye visuals, muscle relaxation, and time distortion. Its mechanism of action has not been definitively established but is believed to involve agonism at the Serotonin receptor 2A (similar to other hallucinogenic amphetamines) and serotonin release by reversing the direction of the Serotonin transporter (like MDMA). MMDA has no approved medical use and is considered an illicit substance[1][5][8].
