Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**35A7-(AlPcS4A1)8** is an experimental anti-carcinoembryonic antigen photoimmunotherapy conjugate for cancer photodynamic therapy. It comprises the anti-CEA monoclonal antibody 35A7 covalently linked through a five-carbon sulfonamide spacer to approximately eight molecules of aluminum tetrasulfophthalocyanine, a hydrophilic phthalocyanine photosensitizer. The antibody directs the conjugate to CEA-expressing tumor cells, while light activation of the phthalocyanine payload produces phototoxic reactive oxygen species and inhibits tumor-cell growth. In vitro, the conjugate produced 68% growth inhibition in CEA-expressing SKOv3-CEA-1B9 ovarian carcinoma cells after light exposure. It remains an academic, preclinical research construct with no identified commercial sponsor, marketed product, or clinical development program.
