Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The 4-valent influenza vaccine (MDCK cell) is a quadrivalent inactivated viral vaccine currently in preclinical development by AIM Honesty, a subsidiary of AIM Vaccine Co., Ltd. Unlike traditional influenza vaccines produced in embryonated chicken eggs, this vaccine utilizes Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell culture technology for manufacturing. This cell-based production platform is designed to offer higher safety and potentially better antigenic matching by avoiding egg-adaptive mutations that can occur during traditional production. The vaccine is formulated to induce strain-specific protective antibody responses against four influenza strains, typically including two influenza A subtypes and two influenza B lineages, to provide broad protection against seasonal influenza infection.
