Overview

**5'-Guanosine-Diphosphate-Monothiophosphate** is a stable analog of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) in which one of the nonbridging oxygen atoms at the γ-phosphate position is replaced by sulfur. This modification makes it resistant to hydrolysis by GTPases, allowing it to act as a tool compound in biochemical research. It stimulates guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G-proteins), promotes phosphoinositide hydrolysis, increases cyclic AMP accumulation, and can activate specific proto-oncogenes. Its primary use is experimental, particularly for studying signal transduction pathways involving G-proteins and related enzymes[2].
