Overview

**5'-O-(L-Threonylsulfamoyl)adenosine** is a synthetic derivative of adenosine in which an L-threonyl group is linked to the adenosine molecule via a sulfamoyl bond. It is classified as a small molecule and has been primarily studied as an experimental compound. This molecule mimics the structure of aminoacyl adenylate intermediates and acts as an inhibitor of threonyl-tRNA synthetase, thereby interfering with protein synthesis by preventing the proper aminoacylation of tRNA(Thr). Its primary use has been in biochemical research to study enzyme mechanisms related to protein translation. There are no known clinical indications or approvals for this compound[1][4][8].
