It is the phosphorylated (monophosphate) form of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), a thymidine analog. This compound belongs to the class of pyrimidine deoxyribonucleoside monophosphates and is used primarily in research settings as a DNA synthesis marker and for studying DNA replication and repair mechanisms.
