Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of 5-fluorouracil, a pyrimidine analog that acts as an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic agent, and conjugated estrogens, a mixture of estrogen hormones. This combination has been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of breast cancer, with research showing that physiologic doses of conjugated estrogens did not negatively influence the course of the disease when combined with 5-fluorouracil.
