Overview

6-chlorobenzo[d]isoxazol-3-ol (CBIO) is a small molecule that functions as an inhibitor of D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO). It has been investigated in preclinical studies for its potential role in mitigating cognitive impairment, such as that induced by arsenic exposure, by modulating D-serine metabolism. Its mechanism involves increasing D-serine levels by preventing its degradation by DAAO.
