610 refers to at least two distinct investigational drugs in development. The most prominent is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin 5 (IL-5), developed by 3SBio and Sunshine Guojian Pharmaceutical for the treatment of asthma and autoimmune disorders. This biologic acts as an interleukin 5 inhibitor, aiming to reduce eosinophilic inflammation associated with these conditions. It is currently in phase II clinical trials for asthma and has not advanced beyond early-stage development for autoimmune disorders[3]. A second unrelated compound named SZM-610 is a small molecule necroptosis inhibitor that targets both receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 (RIPK1) and RIPK3. Developed by Zhejiang University of Technology, it is being investigated preclinically for inflammatory diseases due to its dual inhibition of necroptosis pathways[6].
