611 + topical corticosteroid

611 + topical corticosteroid is a combination treatment regimen being developed by Sunshine Guojian Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of 3SBio Inc., for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. The primary component, 611, is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody of the IgG4 isotype that selectively targets the interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL-4Rα). By binding to IL-4Rα, 611 inhibits the signaling of both interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13), which are key drivers of the Type 2 inflammatory response characteristic of atopic dermatitis. This biologic is administered via subcutaneous injection in combination with background topical corticosteroids (TCS), which provide localized anti-inflammatory effects through glucocorticoid receptor activation. The combination is currently being evaluated in a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT06173284) to assess its efficacy in improving skin clearance and reducing pruritus in patients inadequately controlled by topical therapies alone.
