Drug intelligence / Profile preview
68Ga-DOTA-Ahx-(D-Lys6)-LHRH is a gallium-68 labeled luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) peptide analogue conjugated to the chelator DOTA via an aminohexanoic acid (Ahx) linker. It is designed as a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of cancers that overexpress the LHRH receptor (also known as gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor, GNRHR), such as prostate cancer and breast cancer. The targeting peptide moiety, [D-Lys6]-LHRH, binds with high affinity and specificity to LHRH receptors on tumor cells, allowing for precise localization and visualization of LHRH receptor-expressing malignancies. The agent is being developed by researchers at the Universidad de la República and the Centro Uruguayo de Imagenología Molecular (CUDIM) in Uruguay.
