8-pCPT-2'-O-Me-cAMP is a cell-permeable, stable analog of cyclic AMP (cAMP) that acts as a potent and selective activator of the exchange protein directly activated by cAMP (Epac), specifically Epac1 and Epac2. Unlike traditional cAMP analogs like 8-Br-cAMP, it does not significantly activate protein kinase A (PKA) at commonly used concentrations, making it a critical tool for distinguishing between PKA-dependent and Epac-dependent signaling pathways.
