The 9-valent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Recombinant Vaccine (Hansenula Polymorpha) is a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine developed by Shanghai Bovax Biotechnology (also known as Chongqing Bovax Biopharmaceutical) and initially developed by Shanghai Bowei Biomedical. The vaccine is produced using the *Hansenula polymorpha* yeast expression system and is designed to protect against nine HPV types: 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. It induces neutralizing antibodies against the L1 capsid protein of these types to prevent HPV infection and associated conditions, including cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers, as well as genital warts. Phase 3 clinical trials in Chinese female subjects aged 20-45 have demonstrated that the vaccine is highly immunogenic and generally well-tolerated, showing non-inferiority to Gardasil in safety and immunogenicity profiles.
