It consists of a lactam-cyclized alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) analog (CycMSHhex) modified with a tricarbonyl technetium-99m core via a NOTA chelator and a PEG2Nle linker. Its mechanism involves specific binding to MC1R on tumor cells, enabling sensitive visualization of melanoma lesions with clear tumor-to-background ratios. The agent displays rapid blood clearance, predominantly renal elimination, and favorable biodistribution with low kidney uptake, making it well-suited for diagnostic nuclear imaging of MC1R-positive melanoma lesions[1].
