Overview

a1DC + conserved HIV peptides is an investigational immunotherapeutic product designed for the treatment or prevention of HIV infection. The therapy consists of autologous type 1-polarized dendritic cells (a1DCs) that are loaded ex vivo with highly conserved peptides derived from the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). These dendritic cells are intended to stimulate and enhance the patient’s immune response against multiple, less variable regions of the virus, potentially overcoming issues related to viral diversity and immune escape. The approach leverages the potent antigen-presenting capabilities of type 1-polarized dendritic cells to induce robust cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses targeting conserved elements across different strains of HIV. This strategy aims to improve control over viral replication and may be used as part of therapeutic vaccination or functional cure strategies.
