A1R (Salipro Biotech)

A1R (Salipro Biotech) is a preclinical-stage drug discovery program targeting the Adenosine A1 Receptor (A1R) for the treatment of cardio-renal diseases. The program utilizes Salipro Biotech's proprietary Salipro® technology, which stabilizes challenging membrane proteins like G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in a native-like lipid environment to facilitate the discovery of novel therapeutic binders. By maintaining the structural integrity of the A1R protein, the platform enables the identification of high-affinity monoclonal antibodies or small molecules that might otherwise be difficult to target. Adenosine A1 receptors play a critical role in modulating renal blood flow and cardiac function, making them a significant target for conditions such as heart failure and renal impairment. This program is currently being developed in collaboration with an undisclosed partner.
