Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A6+L9 live probiotic is an experimental combination of two specific probiotic bacterial strains, *Lactobacillus plantarum* A6 and *Lactobacillus casei* L9, developed by researchers at China Agricultural University. This live biotherapeutic product is formulated as a milk tablet intended for the prevention and treatment of chronic periodontitis. The therapeutic rationale is based on the ability of these specific strains to modulate the oral microbiome, inhibit the growth of periodontal pathogens such as *Porphyromonas gingivalis*, and attenuate local inflammatory responses in the gingival tissues. In clinical study settings, it is evaluated as an adjunct to standard initial periodontal therapy, such as scaling and root planing (SRP), to improve clinical parameters like probing depth and attachment level.
