Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AB001 is an alpha radioligand therapy (ART) developed by ARTBIO Inc. for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The drug consists of a small molecule ligand targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) radiolabeled with Lead-212 (Pb-212). AB001 delivers high-energy alpha particles directly to PSMA-expressing cancer cells, causing lethal double-stranded DNA breaks while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. It is manufactured using the proprietary AlphaDirect technology, which enables distributed production of the Pb-212 isotope. As of early 2026, the drug was in Phase 1 clinical development (ARTISAN trial), though a voluntary clinical hold was implemented in April 2026.
