Overview

This is an investigational **combination therapy** comprising three agents: - **AB122** (zimberelimab), a monoclonal antibody that inhibits PD-1 (programmed cell death protein 1), classified as an immune checkpoint inhibitor and investigated as an immunotherapy for cancer. - **TAS-102** (trifluridine/tipiracil), an oral nucleoside antitumor agent. Trifluridine incorporates into DNA, leading to DNA dysfunction and cytotoxicity, while tipiracil inhibits thymidine phosphorylase, enhancing trifluridine's bioavailability. - **bevacizumab**, a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and progression[1][2][3][5][6]. The combination is investigated primarily for treatment of **metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC)**, including in patients ineligible for intensive therapy. AB122 is still in development, while TAS-102 plus bevacizumab is well-studied for this indication.
