Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABB S3 + ABB C22 refers to a postbiotic yeast-based combination product, where ABB C22 is a blend containing the specific strain Saccharomyces boulardii ABB S3. Developed by ABbiotek Health, ABB C22 is composed of three tyndallized (heat-killed) yeast strains: Saccharomyces boulardii ABB S3, Saccharomyces cerevisiae ABB S6 (which is enriched with zinc), and Kluyveromyces marxianus ABB S8. The product is designed for the treatment and prevention of acute diarrhea in children and adults, and has been investigated for managing diarrhea-related inflammation in the elderly. Its multi-mechanistic approach includes enhancing gut barrier function, providing anti-inflammatory effects, protecting against rotavirus infection, and modulating the gut microbiome. It also serves as a source of highly bioavailable zinc, a micronutrient recommended by the WHO for diarrhea management.
