Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABBV-453 + dexamethasone is a combination regimen under investigation for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. ABBV-453 is an **oral small molecule inhibitor of BCL-2**, developed to induce apoptosis in myeloma plasma cells with high BCL-2 expression or t(11;14) translocation, a common genetic feature in multiple myeloma[1][3][5][7]. **Dexamethasone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that exerts antineoplastic activity by suppressing inflammation and inducing tumor cell apoptosis. Together, these agents are being evaluated in phase 1/2 trials for synergistic effects.
