Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abemaciclib + giredestrant is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of estrogen receptor-positive (ER+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer. Abemaciclib is an oral, selective, and potent small molecule cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) 4/6 inhibitor that has demonstrated efficacy in advanced breast cancer and high-risk early breast cancer. Giredestrant is a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD). This combination aims to target both cell cycle progression through CDK4/6 inhibition and estrogen receptor signaling through estrogen receptor degradation, potentially providing enhanced efficacy in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.
