Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABT-122 + methotrexate is a combination therapy comprising **ABT-122**, a bispecific dual variable domain immunoglobulin (DVD-Ig™) biologic, and **methotrexate**, a conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD). ABT-122 is designed to bind and neutralize both tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-17A (IL-17A), two key cytokines involved in driving inflammation in autoimmune diseases. Methotrexate, the backbone DMARD, inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, thereby reducing inflammation and immune activity. This combination has been investigated primarily for patients with **rheumatoid arthritis (RA)** and **psoriatic arthritis (PsA)** who have had an inadequate response to methotrexate alone[1][2][3][4][6][8].
