ABX196 + nivolumab

**ABX196 + nivolumab** is an investigational combination therapy for cancer immunotherapy. **ABX196** is a synthetic glycolipid agonist formulated in liposomes designed to activate invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells, enhancing immune responses against cancer cells. **Nivolumab** is a monoclonal antibody checkpoint inhibitor that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (**PD-1**) on T cells, releasing the immune system’s brakes and allowing T cells to attack tumor cells. Preclinical models show that ABX196 can synergistically enhance antitumor effects of PD-1 blockade by nivolumab, boosting CD8+ T cell tumor infiltration and altering the tumor microenvironment. This combination is under investigation for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common liver cancer, in patients who have failed previous therapies.
