ACC017 + emtricitabine + tenofovir alafenamide is an investigational three-drug combination for treating human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. ACC017 is a novel small molecule integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI), acting to block HIV-1 integrase and thus prevent viral DNA integration into the host genome[1][2][3]. Emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide are nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs); emtricitabine is a cytidine analog and inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase by causing chain termination, while tenofovir alafenamide, a prodrug of tenofovir, inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase by acting as an adenosine monophosphate analog[7]. The combination aims to suppress HIV replication through complementary mechanisms and is designed for once-daily oral administration in both ART-naive and experienced adults[1][3].
