Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tydol is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac (100 mg) and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (325 mg). Developed and marketed by Sanjivani Parenteral, this oral combination is approved for the management of acute pain, inflammation, and fever associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclofenac acts as a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and swelling. Paracetamol acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and modulate the brain's temperature-regulating center, providing complementary analgesic and antipyretic effects. Together, the two active ingredients provide synergistic, dual-action relief for moderate to severe pain.
