Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Flunok P is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac (100 mg) and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (325 mg). Developed by Sunlife, it is approved for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclofenac works by preferentially inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby blocking the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Paracetamol acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever, likely through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase pathways and modulation of the endocannabinoid and serotonergic systems. Together, these components provide synergistic relief from pain and inflammation with a favorable gastrointestinal safety profile.
