Overview

Sudard P is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac (100 mg) and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (325 mg). Developed by Anglo-French Drugs & Industries, it is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and joint disorders, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, cervical spondylitis, low-back pain, sprains, strains, and post-traumatic pain. Aceclofenac acts primarily as a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis, while paracetamol provides additional central analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system.
